Bøllefrø teaches schoolchildren about nature and how to grow their own organic vegetables. They needed a name and a design profile, and the look was inspired by the work they do; all colours are based on homemade vegetable dyes, and the headline font alphabet was stamped with carved potatoes and then scanned. The name Bøllefrø is a Norwegian expression meaning rascal, but the literal translation would be rascal seed, which seemed fitting.
For educational purposes, Bøllefrø needed some physical mascots. Starting with the bunny and carrot from the print design, I designed and crocheted two stuffed 3D versions of these characters.
